Thaw the frozen octopus and cut it into bite-sized pieces.
Cut the onion into 1cm (0.4in) wide wedges.
Cut the green onions into 5cm (2.0in) lengths.
Blanch the bean sprouts briefly.
In a bowl, mix the marinade sauce ingredients, then add the onion and octopus, and toss to combine. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
Place the marinade with the onion and octopus in a pot, heat over medium heat, and simmer until the onions become tender. Once cooked, top with blanched bean sprouts and chopped chives.
Adding pizza cheese and tteokbokki will enhance the flavor.
