Honey Walnut Shrimp

Ingredients
  • 1 cup water
  • ⅔ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup walnuts
  • 4 large egg whites
  • ⅔ cups mochiko flour
  • 1 cup vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1 lb. shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ¼ cup mayo
  • 2 Tbsp. honey
  • 1 Tbsp. sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 Tbsp. Jbasket White Sesame Seeds
  • sliced green onions, for garnish
Directions
  1. Add the water and sugar to a pot. Heat it over medium high heat until comes to a boil. Add the walnuts to the pot and boil it for two minutes. Drain and place the walnuts onto a baking sheet to cool.
  2. Whip the egg whites in a large bowl until foamy. Then mix in the mochiko flour until it develops a pasty consistency.
  3. Add the oil into a pot and heat over medium high heat. Coat the shrimp in the batter and add it to the hot oil. Cook for about 5 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the shrimp with a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain.
  4. Add the mayo, honey, and sweetened condensed milk to a bowl. Mix until combined then gently fold in the fried shrimp. Sprinkle in the candied walnuts, Jbasket White Sesame Seeds, and white sesame seeds. Enjoy!
