Ingredients

Breading:

  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • ½  cup J Basket Panko Breadcrumbs

Shrimp Patties:

  • ½ lb shrimp, half minced and half diced
  • 2 Tbsp. yellow onion finely diced
  • 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp. water
  • pinch of salt and pepper

Sauce:

  • ¼ cup gochujang
  • 2 Tbsp. Kikkoman Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. honey
  • 1 Tbsp. Nishiki rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp. J-Basket sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. grated ginger

Burger Assembly:

  • 2 Burger buns
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Sliced cucumbers
  • Optional toppings: sliced green onions, sesame seeds
Directions
  1. Make Shrimp Patties: Prepare three separate trays of flour, egg, and J Basket Panko Breadcrumbs.
  2. In a bowl, add shrimp (half minced and half diced), onion, a pinch of salt and pepper, and mix together. Add flour and water and mix to combine. Lightly wet your hands with water, divide the mixture, and shape into two patties.
  3. Carefully coat each patty with flour, egg, and J Basket Panko Breadcrumbs in that order, making sure each side is evenly coated and shaking off any excess.
  4. Heat at least 2 inches of oil in a large pan over medium heat. Once the oil reaches 350°F, cook for about 3-4 minutes, flipping halfway or until golden brown.
  5. Make sauce: Whisk together gochujang, Kikkoman Soy Sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  6. Toast buns and spread sauce on the bottom half. Add Lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Place crispy shrimp patties on the veggies and drizzle with more sauce. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Enjoy!
