Smokey Beans On Toast

Ingredients

Equipment:

  • 1 Large Skillet
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup vegetable broth, low sodium
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp Dynasty Bead Molasses
  • 1 tbsp tamari, low sodium (sub soy sauce)
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 15 oz can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • ¼ tsp J-Basket Natural Sea Salt, more to taste
  • Fresh cracked pepper to taste
  • Parsley, chopped for garnish
  • 4 slices rustic bread
Directions
  1. Heat oil over medium-low heat in a large skillet and add the garlic; sauté for 30-60 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Add the cumin, smoked paprika, and crushed red pepper. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the broth, sugar, Dynasty Bead Molasses Sauce, tamari, vinegar, salt, and pepper. Then, add the beans and stir to combine and bring to a mild simmer.
  4. Gently simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally or until the sauce has thickened. Taste for seasoning and add more if needed.
  5. Lightly toast the bread then top each piece with a few spoonfuls of beans.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley and enjoy!
